City of Centralia ARES Team

City of Centralia, 15,600 population, formed its own emergency management group in 2007 and operated out of its own EOC during the December 2007 flood.  As part of the EOC response capability to our community, an Amateur Radio Emergency Services team was form and currently has nineteen members.  The ARRL has approved the use of both licensed ham and non-licensed City of Centralia volunteers for membership on the team. 

Our goal is to provide communications support to the Emergency Operation Center during emergency situations and assist with communications during the many Centralia public events.  In addition, we want to become well trained and ready to meet any situation with professional, trained Amateurs.

Our groups meets every other Monday. Nets on those Monday evenings at 6:15pm on 146.53 simplex .
