ARES MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

 

 

                                                                  BECOMING A MEMBER

    

   All licensed amateur radio operators are invited to join the MASON COUNTY ARES organization. There are no dues or fees required. We will send you an application form if you send an email same to our Administrative AEC at swoog@msn.com.

   The membership application for ARES is simple and just needs to be returned to the Administrative AEC.

 

   Upon the return of the ARES membership form you will be placed on our monthly VHF NET ROLL CALL. The roll call is held the first Sunday of the month at 1930 hrs on 146.720 and is followed by a talk net. The talk net takes place each Sunday at 1930 hrs. If you miss the check in on the first Sunday simply check in with the net control during the talk net on any following Sunday.

 

                                                            ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  Because MASON COUNTY ARES is a residential based organization you will be operating from your residence there are no additional training requirements. It is strongly recommended that you take additional training such as the COMMUNICATIONS ACADEMY  and any of the Arrl’s on line courses,   however they are not required.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

                                                     

                                                                         MEETINGS

 

   The only ”meeting” is the once a month check in on the first Sunday of the month at 1930 hrs on 147.720.All other communication is done by email or postings in the NEWSLETTER SECTION of the MASON COUNTY ARES section of the DISTRICT 3 website.
