MISSION STATEMENT:
ARES provides a pool of trained amateur radio operators to support
the local public service agencies, volunteer groups, and non-government
organizations, with communications at events, exercises, and during
disaster or post-event assistance operations.

MISSION STATEMENT:
RACES is a unit of the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, Search and
Rescue Council; with highly skilled amateur radio operators trained and
certified in auxiliary communications for government agencies during
searches, and man-made or natural disaster relief operations.
This is the home
page for Thurston County ARES/RACES, the on-line resource center
for members of Thurston County ARES/RACES Organizations and unit Members.
We train and practice to sharpen our communications skills in a
practical and meaningful way, to be able to help our local neighborhoods
in being prepared in the event of emergencies or disasters.
