SIMULATED EMERGENCY
TEST ( S.E.T.) EXERCISE

The ARRL Simulated Emergency Test (SET) is a nationwide exercise in emergency communications, administered by ARRL Emergency Coordinators and Net Managers. Both ARES and the National Traffic System (NTS) are involved. The SET weekend gives communicators the opportunity to focus on the emergency communications capability within their community while interacting with NTS nets. The SET weekend is held in October of every year.

Thurston County ARES/RACES activates their portion of the DEM EOC Radio room and conducts a net call out of the unit .

Members are deployed to various Public Service organizations and government agencies. They use all forms of VHF/UHF/ HF communications, and VHF Data modes to pass simulated exercise traffic. For local info, check the Events Calendar page, for ARRL information, go to:
