Established in 1852, the Thurston County Sheriff's Office is committed to serving in partnership with the citizens of Thurston County to protect life and property, maintain the peace, and enforce local, state, and federal laws within the jurisdiction of Thurston County

Thurston County RACES provides members and equipment to assist in auxiliary backup radio communications using voice and data modes, working at the Courthouse Complex, sub-stations, and response sites during various incidents to include post-disaster situations.
